See below information from the Cross and Passion Sisters in Drumalis regarding their online Zoom courses.
I am writing to you from Drumalis Retreat and Conference Centre, Larne, N Ireland, a ministry of the Sisters of the Cross and Passion.
We in Drumalis took the very difficult decision to extend the closure of the house until the Spring of 2021. As a result, we have made the transition to Zoom and are planning to deliver many of our courses through that medium. We have been delighted that, once geography is no longer an issue, we have started to see people from further afield registering for short courses we have delivered over the summer, including some sisters from Nigeria.
The reason I am writing to you is to ask if you would support the dissemination of information about the various Zoom courses here through your Ad Clerems and/or through your Communications office. We would hope in that way to reach both clergy and lay people alike.
A number of courses will begin in September and October.
Is There Life after Covid?: The Search for Meaning and Values This public theology course will be delivered over 8 evenings by Dr Johnston McMaster. Johnston is a Methodist minister and is prominent in the field of public theology in Ireland and internationally. He combines academic rigour and insight with down to earth practicality and has worked for many years in the area of community peace building in Ireland. Last September in Versailles he gave the key-note address to the Conference of European Churches on the Paris Peace Treaty and Its Implications before returning to Drumalis to teach on one of our programmes!
The Gospel of John This will be delivered over 8 Saturday mornings, October to May, by Sr Pam Thimmes, a Poor Clare Sister and Professor Emerita in Biblical Studies in the University of Dayton, Ohio. Like Johnston, Pam combines the academic and the practical in a way which makes her teaching non-threatening and accessible
Growth in Prayer and Reflective Living: Ignatian Spirituality This will be delivered over 30 Monday evenings, September to June, by the Ignatian Spirituality team in Drumalis and is in collobaration with the Ignatian Spirituality Centre, Glasgow. Below is a short promo-video about it.
